„BeyondMeBeyondYou”
Images of cities/people/buildings/ with writing, slightly obscured, painted over, almost erased like its already fading away as you view it. My opinion is a title for an exhibition or an artwork should almost be enough explanation/clue/data for people to then work things out and see what they want to see in the images, if you see the words Vampire, Batman, LA, Paranormal, Secret club, you already have a story/picture in your mind. I will try to explain this group of pictures/images this way… if I painted 10 pictures of hills/trees/beaches/flowers/rivers and churches (the nice safe but ‘simple stuff’) I could have made things much easier and simpler for myself but im trying to put together pictures and ideas that hopefully have a bit more depth/darkness and light/slight mystery and Irony… I said hopefully. I believe 99% of people want to see something interesting, unusual, beautiful not shocking… Enjoy the exhibition.

Gerard Carruthers
Irlandzki artysta, urodzony w Dublinie, obecnie meszka i tworzy w Krakowie. Artysta tworzy unikatowe kolaże będące osobistym komentarzem do otaczającej rzeczywistości. Każda praca to osobna opowieść – nierzadko mroczna, pełna teorii spiskowych, czasem inspirowana filmami Davida Lyncha, często z wplecionymi cytatami Haruki Murakamiego, niejednokrotnie przewrotna i ironiczna. Każde dzieło to prawdziwa mozaika obrazów, barw, jak również przeżyć, emocji i osobistych notatek artysty. Powracając do prac Gerarda Carruthers zawsze można odkryć w nich coś nowego.
