Wojciech Szybist
My painting is an outcome of “workshop”, personal predispositions and continuous attempts to include my thoughts and ideas in the painting. I owe a lot to being in the presence of the works and reproductions of both old masters and contemporary artists.
In my outcome the drawing plays an important role – it is the very base of my work on the form of painting. The topics of my works circle around issues connected with human existence. In a metaphorical way I try to transfer all that is important for me onto the canvas: the relationship with God and people, answers to my questions and concerns.
