Dominika Gołąb (Kaczmarczyk)

I am an architect by trade, and I think that it’s an ideal background for my growth as an abstract artist. I know how to work with space, light and composition. My current direction in art relies on emotions an image evokes, and the final effect is dependent very often on my decision, whether i like it, or still not. The aesthetic aspect of art is important to me. I am aware, that nowadays, when conceptual art reigns supreme, and the traditional, aesthetic-based works may be seen as less worthwhile, this is a bold view. However, my creative output is meant to bring joy and energy, and have a positive impact on my audience. That is not to say that my paintings have no deeper meaning. The have all been inspired by concrete thoughts, emotions or events, that are important to me, but I want, simply, for that meaning to be seem more universal to the viewers. I allow them, through a personal interaction with colours, textures and forms, to create their own history for a given image, and thus create a deep and individual bond.
